From the Prez....

Happy Spring Everyone!

Well, we did it again! We were very lucky this year to have perfect weather for the rally. With a devious route worked out and all of the rally sheets printed, we just needed the attendees. We were not disappointed! 35 cars turned out, with lots of DTRC friends ready to rally. This route was really tough this year and took people through North Denver, Downtown Denver and the Capitol, Five Points and Northwest Denver. For many years, we'd talked about a route to run through Downtown, but Nancy Burritt, AKA "The Rallymaster" actually made it happen.

With your help and fantastic turnout at the event, we made it a truly enjoyable event. From the start line at Taco Johns, to the endpoint at Pifler's Sports Bar, and every checkpoint in the middle, DtRC members made it a memorable and fun time for everyone.

I know that several people came up to me to tell me how much fun they had and that they will be back next year, including several rally newbies! You should be proud of what we accomplished, it was a fantastic time and I'm glad I get to work with each and every one of you.

Looking forward to a great Corvette season with you all.

John Maxwell
President, DtRC

Miscellaneous ramblings from the Editor:

I've heard it more than once over the last week, the April Fool's Rally is over and the Corvetting season is underway!

And so it is. Just look over the number of events on the calendar below. There is something there for everyone and that's just in the month of May! Whether your taste is in car shows, auto-x, drag racing, road trips or watching serious professional racing with the Corvette Racing team, it's all in there. Your job, should you accept, it is to get out there and enjoy your car and the people that come with it.

Hope to see all of you at the meeting and out enjoying all our Corvetttes have to offer.

Tim

April Fool's Rally

By Nancy B.

What an absolutely beautiful day - and you all looked super sharp in the new club shirts. We had 35 cars go out, and we had 35 cars come in - so that is always a bonus. We had a lot of good comments and it seemed that everyone had a good time. So you all deserve a big kudos and a huge thank you for the part you all did in putting on this great event. Thanks again. Nancy B - co-chair.

For those entrants that may be reading this. Pictures from the capitol (along with the photo used on the trophies) are available at www.flickr.com:80/photos/49362700@N04/sets/72157623746277933/detail/?page=1

You can bring up the photo, right click on the picture and do "Save Picture As" - and it will copy it to your hard drive. Some cars we have multiples of, and some cars - well I can't tell them apart - hopefully you can. Anyway - feel free to download to your computer as many of the pictures as you want and do whatever you want with them. This is breaking news and this article is being written right after they were posted, but I'll let our webmaster know and hopefully he'll have a link up from our home page shortly. But you can always get there with the link provided above.

Governor’s Report

By Nancy B.

You can check the events calendar at rmrnccc.org for all the events - but a couple I know we usually get good attendance at are coming up. The first one is the TORCA car show- it is at the Downtown Aquarium again this year. Date is Saturday May 15. Registration is 9 - 10:30. The second one is the CWCC AutoCross at the Grand Junction Go-Kart track. We don't have a lot of autocross enthusiasts left in the club - but even for some of us once-in-a-whilers - this one (along with ours) is the one to do. It is on June 20th - so you've got some time to think about it. CWCC asks that you click on the registration link on the form and let them know you are coming. There is no need to send any money - they just want to get things into the timing system and to figure out their run groups ahead of time as it makes things more efficient that day.
