From the Prez....

No words of wisdom from our new president this month. I'm sure he'll have something illuminating to say in coming months. (Ed.)

Miscellaneous ramblings from the Editor:

Well, a new year is upon us. There are new experiences waiting, not that the ones we've already had were less than great mind you.

My new experiences are already underway. First up is attempting to learn enough HTML to actually get the newsletter to not only look right, but also to allow it to have a consistent look. It's taken me a lot of hours to clean up at least some of the formatting issues that I've noticed - mostly induced by my attempts to edit the newsletter in MS Word. The size of this newsletter should be about half of what it has been in terms of the amount of garbage that was in the document hidden from view. It's getting leaner and meaner and should take less time to load. At the same time, I should now also be able to include pictures in the newsletter which will be a nice surprise.

In other news, there are some really fun opportunities coming our way. Richard is working on setting up a trip to California's Monteray Peninsula for the ALMS race at Laguna Seca. This will be a chance to enjoy not only a great race -as the Corvette Racing team attempts to make inroads into the GT2 class, but also to participate in the Corvette Corral sponsored by the NCM. It should be a lot of fun! Or, what about an open track day out at High Plains Raceway?

No matter what your taste, I'm sure that we'll have opportunities to enjoy a broad spectrum of experiences this coming year!

Tim

Tim's Challenge Update

By Tim B.

A huge than you to all of you who invested your time to make Tim's Challenge a success again this year.

Thanks to your tireless efforts, the Montour family of Commerce City is warmer, better fed and very touched by your support. By focusing on a single family this year, we were able to make a much larger difference than normal. Those of you who were there for the delivery know how much of a difference we made.

To those of you who helped shop, the family wants you to know that your selections were absolutely spot on. They are very, very grateful for the shoes and clothes.

After looking at their home, I'm wondering if there isn't a way we could raise some more money and spend a day at their house doing some simple maintenance like tacking back up broken siding shingles, weather stripping doors and windows and other small things to help them be in a much more affordable situation. We can discuss this at the meeting if there is any interest.

We should all feel good about what we made happen for this family.
