Miscellaneous ramblings from the President

Hi all,
Well we just got home from our second annual Fathers’ day show at Heritage square. I had a great time and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate all the work our club members did to make this thing another success. Mike Lindenberger took charge of the 50/50 again and with help from the DJ and other members, he raised over $1000.00! Mike Davis took charge of chairing the show with some help from Lewis. Mary Davis picked out and picked up the trophies. Muff and Renee (good to see you again Renee) brought two cars and allowed many people to have their pictures taken is his “special Vette”. I don’t think I would let anyone touch it let alone sit in it. A special thanks to Leo and LynnAnn, Mike and Jani, Dave and Wanda, Dave Cooper, Les and Kelly, Gail, Barrett, Bruce and Mary and Cathy. Don and Tanya Roach did a great job getting a great singer for the National Anthem, and Mike and Jackie for buying $100.00 worth of 50/50 tickets via telephone from Lake Tahoe. The majority of our club pitched in and it just proves what can be done when we all work together as a group. Once again “THANKS TO ALL!!!”

Our next meeting is in two weeks. I know some of you will be out of town so if you have anything you would like me to bring up at the meeting send me an email. I know we will be discussing next years show and who we may sponsor if anyone. Mike Davis mentioned a dealer appreciation show etc. Anything your interested in let me know.

We have the Auto Cross coming up  in July so we have that to look forward to.  This event is always a lot of fun! We have mysery meals and the “Road trip to the Boise show” I think we have 5 cars for sure going on this with 2 or 3 maybes.

I look forward to seeing all of you at the next meeting, be sure to let me know if you want anything on the agenda.

Bill

National Corvette Museum Report:

A REMINDER…   & AN AWARD

If you’re going to be at the National Council of Corvette Clubs’ annual convention in Bowling Green June 22-29, be sure to visit the Corvette’s 60th Birthday Celebration at the NCM June 27-28.    The C7 Coupe and Convertible will be on display along with seminars by GM personnel.  Another highlight will be the Museum’s groundbreaking on the 28th for the Motorsports Park, which will include the west race track thanks to a successful million-dollar special fund raiser.  And don’t miss the National Corvette Restorers Society exhibit  “Marque of Excellence,”  featuring Corvettes that have earned NCRS Top Flight and Bloomington Gold honors.  The event is free, but requires admission to the Museum for non-NCM members.

Trip Advisor, the world’s largest travel site offering over 100 million candid travelers’ reviews, opinions and photos of hotels, restaurants, attractions and more, has awarded the NCM with a 2013 Certificate of Excellence.  The prestigious award places NCM in the top performing 10% of all businesses that consistently earn high ratings from travelers.  So why not see why NCM earns the high ratings by visiting the Museum in 2013?

I will be in Bowling Green at the end of June, so I will miss the June DtRC meeting, however, I’ll have $10 raffle tickets at the July meeting for the 60th Anniversary coupe, the last C6 regular Corvette coupe produced.

NOTE:  For next month’s newsletter or web site, I hope to have photos of the 60 Corvettes selected for display at the 60th Birthday event, highlighting, of course, my 2002 coupe!

New Member Corner

I (Jack) have always had a love for cars and the Corvette has always been a dream car to have. So a few years back Ingrid and I went looking for a car, and found a 1992 Corvette, we bought it and fell in love with the car right away. After a nasty accident on our anniversary (long story) I knew that I had to get another car ASAP so we bought our 07 Vette.

We live in Parker we had a total of 4 kids 30, 25, 22, & 12. We actually met in a motorcycle club funny how things change..

We have been married 4 wonderful years. Ingrid and I like to Geocache, spent time in the mountains, and spend time with our great friends the Rhoades as well.. Ingrid likes to bake and is and avid scrap booker. I like most sports (football, basketball, NASCAR, and local races), I enjoy the outdoors as well. I also enjoy working on my car also.

Ingrid is from back east Dover, DE and I am a native to Colorado was born and raised in Fairplay just 85 miles south west of Denver/  Ingrid works for Raytheon as a Computer geek and I work at Newmont Mining Corp as there Lab Operations Safety Supervisor

Look forward to being part of our club and hope you will enjoy us as well.

Jack & Ingrid Tryon
