Hi Everybody,
I feel like I've been out of touch, missing the April meeting. Don did an exemplary job and he can take the job any time he wants. I'm back, recovered from jet lag and ready to get on with the Corvetting season. It's already a busy season with everything on the calendar and I think it will be a lot of fun.
One thing I've determined when I got involved with this club, is that the amount of fun that you have is directly proportional to the events you go to and get involved with. I love nothing more than to hang out at events with my Corvette Family...and I really hope to see you all out there this year.
Save the wave
Holy cow! The Corvetting season is
underway!!!!
Gotta run! Another Corvetting event is underway!.

The date for the Christmas party has been set. It will be on December 11th at the Old Neighborhood.
Thanks to Richard for stepping in to help with the social committee!
First I'd like to congratulate all of you who took home trophies from the Aquarium show and say great job all - DtRC had a great turnout.
If the roofers in Montana don't call Dave before then - we are seriously thinking about going to the Colorado Springs Rallye on Sunday the 23rd. We'll drop out an email before then. Let us know if you are interested.
There is a big event down at PPIR - the Rocky Mountain Muscle Car Classic - the weekend of June 4th. It spans all the major domestic car manufacturers, but for the first time - the Pueblo club and the Colorado Spring club are having several sanctioned events over that weekend. There will be vendors and the Richard Petty driving experience will be there, etc. You can get the NCCC flyer on the http://www.rmrnccc.org/ website - but you do need to follow the link on the flyer to the Muscle Car classic to get the detailed info. That link is http://www.rmmcc.org/home.html. Perusing the links on that site have several conflicting pieces of information out there as to rally vs. show, etc. I plan to send some emails out and see if I can see what is really going on that weekend from an NCCC standpoint. I do believe they do get a huge turnout from all the muscle cars - so it is a good chance to see some of the other cars.
I am checking into hotels for the Grand Junction autocross. The races are on June 20th - and this is at the Grand Junction Go-Kart track - a perennial favorite of many of you - and worthy of being one of the one or two races a year that is all most of us do anymore. NCCC has a special discount number with Choice Hotels - and in the limited checking I've done it is even slightly cheaper than AAA. I'll let you know when I get some prices written down.
I did have a governors meeting during the car show this weekend. The regional membership has surpassed what it was last year (the year always starts lower and increases as it goes along - and we've recovered from the end of year decrease and then some). The RCDs are in the process of finalizing what changes the want in the Rulebook for next year so that the governors can vote on them this fall. One item of note is that currently there is a discrepancy between the AutoX tech form in the rulebook and the rulebook section on autocrosses. The rulebook supercedes the tech form - and passengers (as well as drivers) must have closed toe (and I believe closed heel) shoes. In general - it is business as usual and we've got some very dedicated regional officers making trips to St. Louis to represent the region.
Lots of events this summer, both NCCC and non-NCCC - so lots of choices for everyone, and hopefully summer will actually get here and we will all be going out and having some fun.
