From the Prez....

As I sit here, thinking about everything that is going on in the next month, my mind keeps going to what I have discovered is the most important thing this wonderful car brings to all of us. Friendship! Corvette gives the chance to meet people we would of normally walked right by and made them lifelong friends. The countless number of people that stop to talk with us still to this day surprises me. The bond that this car offers to us is strong because it shows us all that we can be different but still can have something in common.

Dave and Wanda, I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say you are in our thoughts everyday. If there is anything we can do, we are here for you.

With that said, there are alot of things going on from now until fall. Enjoy and as always I look forward to seeing you all.

Richard
President, DtRC

Miscellaneous ramblings from the Editor:

First, I'd like to reiterate Richard's thoughts for Dave and Wanda. Our thoughts and prayers are with both of you. Get Well soon Dave and if there is anything that any of us can do to assist, please let us know.

The TORCA Aquarium show was a pretty darned good time. It's good to get out and see eveyone again where you actually have time to sit and visit with people. As Richard pointed out, friendships are what Corvetting is all about and the show was a great opportunity to catch back up with people again. See the article below for a list of how DtRC members did.

The newsletter is still a bit sparce of contributions, so, don't be afraid to put your fingers to the keyboard and whip out an article! It's really pretty painless. If Bill can do it, so can you! By the way Bill, where have you been with the articles?

I hope to see everyone at the meeting Thursday night!

Remember - SAVE THE WAVE!

Tim

12th Annual Justin Andersen Memorial Bike Repair Day

From Tim Barnes

The Adventure Elementary at Western Hills principal would like to thank those of us who came out and helped repair bikes. About 60 bikes were repaired, some in absolutley unridable condition. It was a great time and the kids and the parents of the kids whos bikes were repaired were all grateful for the time spent repairing them and the donated bikes to replace those in such bad shape they couldn't be fixed.

TORCA Aquarium Show

From Tim Barnes

TORCA did their usual great job of putting on a show. There were probably around 100 Corvettes there and as a nice touch, there were a handful of street rods and Mustangs as well. The weather, while a little windy at times was cooperative especially in light of the lousy weather we've had over the last few weeks.

It should come as no surprise that our club took home some nice hardware as well.

Mike and Martha Palomar - 2nd place C6 Stock
Fancy Lock - 2nd place Specialty Corvettes (all Z06, ZR1 and other limited editions were in the class)
Richard Lock - 1st place Specialty Corvettes (some how I'm not surprised by this, but Richard seemed to be)
Roger Less- 1st place Modified Corvette
Jani Shoemaker - t-shirt
Pat Barnes - Fox and Hounds Party! I guess you can guess what will be happening soon with this...

Congratulations to all who brought home hardware!
